  2. I am pretty sure the Traveler was a rebuild of the SWC Dark Horse by Chuck Finders. And the transverse spring was primarily to eliminate bump-steer that plagued gassers with the stock parallel leaf suspensions.

That 33 Willys PU truck was great! I did the body and paint on that car in 1964-66 for owner and driver Eddie Sanzo of New York. The truck was originally doen by the Pacers auto body, but a few years later he wanted it redone so I painted it Chevy reo red, he raced ait ll over the east and at Indy. Later June 1965 he raced Stone Woods and Cook East vs West in New York one night, I was there when Sanzo did a wheel stand hole shot and got into the dirt, we had to actually run out of the way as he flipped the car, distryoed it. The next day he bought and old 33 Willys coupe track car, and I got on the body work and paint, Eddie and crew traded out the usable pick up parts and in 5 weeks later he raced Ohio George again at Indy 1966 but smoked the engine. Great fun memories.

I couldn't find a shot of Sanzo racing Ohio George, but I found a couple of him racing Bones at the 66 Nats.

These were found over in the Great Oregon Racers thread. Some of the Pacific Northwest's finest.

  21. Anyone,
Trying to find out the thread size for the screws that hold the door travel limiter on a 33-36 willys door. Are they 10-32, or 10 -24, or possibly 12-24 ? Need to chase the threads, and don't want to get the wrong tap! Anybody with their project handy...let me know!!! Thanks.

I saw your thread where you found your panel van. Awesome find and congratulations. I'll see if there's any more panel pics I can dig up.

  28. Ever notice in the Spencer Tracy flick "Bad Day At Black Rock" (1955) there's a scene where he goes to the garage to borrow a jeep and in the background a 33-36 Willys coupe body, two-tone yellow over white, doors/nose missing, is visible for a few seconds out the front of the garage?
