I'm 44 and I find myself asking more and more for people to repeat what they say. I was laying in bed one morning with the window open. I was laying on my right ear and I hear the birds outside raising hell..... I shifted over and layed on my left ear and I couldn't hear the same tones at all..... I lost alot of hearing in the last 10 years. It's serious shit for anyone working with equipment in sheetmetal. Air hammers are killer on the ears....

He must have ear drums of steel, because when I use the power hammer, it is way too loud for me without protection.

  8. Doesn't matter- sustained levels of even 80+ decibels (that's like the dial tone on your house phone) will cause permanent damage to your hearing (I sat through too many band rehearsals in front of the percussion section in college, and my students wonder why I can't hear certain things).

You only get one set of ears, and they are easy to protect!

Here is a patch I made today for my 54 Chevy. It was made with a pair of thumbnail dies that I also made. Pretty considerable shrink and little panel markings for a set of dies that took an hour to build and $1.50 in materials..

After having to brake a second 90 degree manually all these years with a dolly I made these 90 degree Edge Setting Dies for the reciprocating machine..

I give up! Don't know why it's double posting these pics. I only attached them one time.
