Think the same caps were on Bill Neumans '31 when the Car Craft feature was shot.

  7. I'd like to find two more of these, the ones I have require too much work to go on my car.

What do you mean by too much work PSJ? They looked really good on your car in the mock-up.

  9. The newer 2 with the black centers are close to mint, just need a little bit of work and polishing.

The older 2 with the red centers have a bunch of dings.

Okay, this may seem like sacrilege, but this extra set of fluted ones I have were already drilled in the centers when I bought them. I think it looks good with a bullet too.

  13. I saw them too, but mint doesn't always mean mint.

I wound up with a total of 12. Gotta love mis-listed ePay auctions. Nine are like the ones in the foreground of the pic, the other three are the more smooth type that look like fancy oversized moon caps with Lyon's logos. The plan is to separate out the best full set for my soon-to-be-taildrager '38 Buick. Then the jury's out on whether I'm gonna sell the rest, or keep some around for a future project, I'm thinking they'd look good on an A-bone that I've had built in my mind for some time. If I do decide to get rid of some, I'll let you know first, John.

  21. Cool, I have a set of the smooth ones on my coupe (avatar pic) but always wanted a set with the red ribbed centre section covers also.
    Thanks.

  22. Not sure.......do you think this one is a Lyons.......it's an aftermarket
item.......found at a salvage yard a few years ago. I think they came
with either 3 or 4 bars, and in probably all sizes when new. This one is
    a 15".

  23. Hey Rainier thanks. I have two of the older style ones, where the centers stick out the most, those are the ones I love the most. I also have two "newer" ones that Rik said are more 50's style. Those two I have are almost mint, but I really like the older ones. But mine would have be professionally restored too many dents. If you sell two of the older ones let me know, I will then remove the spider caps (and muted cheering was heard on the HAMB). :)

  24. Nice score RainierHooker !

  25. Scored 3 of these today anyone have one they want to get rid of....
