I don't know about everything they say it will do but I know I love the stuff for my aluminum and magnesium wheels and I just got my hands on a 33 5 wdw coupe that I want to DA down to metal and need a way to protect it while it's naked and I am told this stuff is about the only lube/metal protectant that won't come back to haunt you come time to paint the car .

I just ordered a case from getgibbs. Jerry is his name. The hot rod co guy wont take a credit card for payment.

Online I found hot rod co, getgibbs.com, and billy gibbs. They all were a pain in the ass to get ahold of. That said I left a message with Jerry and he called me back the next day.

I got my case on friday and haven't opened it yet. A friend of mine last year had a fastback mustang in bare metal all summer and every few weeks gave it a wipe down. The stuff looks phenomenal.

My header on my coupe was Damn near orange at the end. My buddy came over with gibbs and a scotch bright pad and rubbed for about 60a seconds and ill be damned if it didn't look better than when I got it.

I bought a case from a guy in Chicago. He claims it is the product of choice for the Chicago P.D. for their weapons. I gave a few cans to my son, also a Police Officer. He and his buddies like it.

Does it attract dust like WD-40 when used to protect bare metal?

How do you get Gibbs OFF?

I ask because I have a set of Torq Thrusts on my '55 Chevy truck that look EXACTLY like the one in post #17 but I want to polish the lip. Not a high polish just similar to a machined finish? I've already tried acetone & MEK. Neither touches it.

At this point I'm thinking of progressive sanding up to 1500 grit, then metal polish. Other ideas?
