I cruised up to Salina with the some of the McGregor's in Joe's Caddy and me with the roadster. We parked with Steve's cousin Greg from Herrington. Great guy and family. Also Jeb, Ashley, Mollie, Cory, Rick, Art, Larry Ashley, my wife and lot's more great people on hand. I think we all had a blast and it was fun talking to lots of HAMB'rs. Here's a few of my favorite pix.
"That little bastard" got away from me I walked all saturday and didnt see that car, really wanted to see it up close.
I know what you mean. You never know what cars are going to be back the next day. The little bastard was cool tribute to Mr. Dean.
Nice meeting you also Art! Let me know when you're coming to Do Dah and we'll see if we can't go out to eat or something.
Right on! Travis takes some great pix but I just wanted to start a thread we "point and shoot" folks could add to. I don't know how many cars were there but I"m sure everyone was looking from a different point of view. Always fun to see other folks pix. At least I think so.
rat54 ,did you grow up near salina? Who's shop did you work at when you were younger? Welcome to the hamb!
Hi Butch! Thanks, it's getting closer to what I want it to be. I've got some ideas for this winter. Did you go to Salina? If you did I never did see you. I would have loved to see your green car banging some gears at the drags.
Did anyone get anymore pics of the chev being sectioned? I would love to have watched that going on! Jim
Hey fastcar1953, nice pix, thanks for adding them on. That ol' farm truck is something else isn't it? That thing is a running sombitch!
I saw them doing it as I was walking by on some errand or another. I meant to go back but got sidetracked. Every time I went by there it seemed like they had a different car in there getting cut on. Amazing stuff.
I talked with the owner of the "farm truck". He says "It's too heavy to be fast". I ask what will it run in the 1/4. His wife says "It has ran 10.20". True or not that thing hauls major ass!!!!
There's some you tube vids of it out there. You'll believe it when you watch them. The mill in that baby is set on "kill"! I saw him lining it up Friday night but somehow got distracted and missed the actual run. Just too much going on for me to catch it all.
all i took sat. to busy watching. the truck was rumored to have a 572 c.i motor in it. ran real good.
It's got a 572 with nitrous, I ran against it with my postal jeep Friday night at the drag and he got me by about half a car length, there's always next year to redeem myself, lol.
Uncle Chet: Tried to attach a few photos of your roadster going down the strip but kept getting edit messages. Will try to e-mail them to you. Charlotte's photos will be on carnut.com later this week.
Hi Larry! That'd be super cool! I'd love to see what you guys shot. It was nice talking to you and Charlotte but I never did see Troy. I hope you all had a good time, but I'm sure you did. By the way your 40 is still like the best of the best and it was cool seeing you out there cutting laps at the drags with it.
