The Hand Grenade bent every wheel stud on the rear. Looks like we will need to have a set of drag wheels for next year.

I'm not getting the pictures to show on that site for some reason. I selected 2012 pictures, and nothing is there.

Pics worked for me. When did the SWC car come out on the track? Those are some good shots.

I pulled the trans out of my Chevy II tonight, and this is what it looks like.

  27. Let me guess... do you have the Hurst type front motor mounts and then the rear trans mount to support all that weight?

I've only seen that happen in that configuration.... commonly called a "Bridge Break" because of the great distance of unsupported weight.!

    II Funny
Interesting. I trashed a Turbo 350 in 1986 with nearly identical damage. Mine broke on the top end and also twisted my drive shaft in two. I had front mounts, bell mounts and a tail shaft mount. My best theory was that a u-joint broke, possibly due to imbalance. It cocked and locked up for an instant. The momentum of the rotating mass in the engine/transmission and rear wheels twisted the drive shaft and busted the case. The weird part is, the rotating assembly of my transmission was left intact. I put it all in a good case and ran it another 10 years and it was still running when I pulled it out. By the way here is my damage from Saturday. I broke on my first run also, still had a blast. Made it about 30 feet. How far did you get?

I have broken 2 TH350 cases,(solid motor mounts and rubber tail mount). Went to Ultrabell housing. So far so good.
