Projects 55 Ford spindles to Speedway dropped axle

    Will 55 Ford F100 spindles work on a Speedway dropped axle?If not what needs to be done?

    If it has bosses for F-100 spindles, but I don't think they do those. Usually, axles are made for '37-'48 Ford spindles or '49-'54 Chevy. F-100 has a king pin that is quite a bit thicker than the earlier spindle.
     
  3. think the Kingpin inclination ( Angle ) is different on the F100 as well . Meaning even if you make custom bushes for the f100 spindles and use the smaller car kingpins you end up with negative camber .

    Use 37 - 48 Ford spindles...
    Maybe you were thinking of brakes... 53 - 56 F100 brakes go on those spindles nicely (with the correct bearings).
     
  7. You bought the axle used no doubt.

    measure the king pin bungs and post the measurements for us, ID of hole length of bung and maybe we can help you decide which one you have.
