Event Coverage KKOA Lead Sled Show coming up this week ---

Driving up in my daily to meet up with a friend from Hutchison, will be in a black primer 57 sedan with full moons, i would like to stop by and say Hey.

 

Man, I'd give a lot to be there......maybe next year I guess........I'll be at the *Jalopy Showdown Invitational* this weekend.......partyin' with Zach and the FLYERS on Friday and doing the *Latimore thing* on Saturday! Woo! Hoo!

What the hell? I can see a buck or two...but 10?

 

Ok, just found out from Paul that it is the growth of the drags that is the problem. City of Salina wants more porta pots, insurance, security, ect.....

 

I didn't go to these drags when it was free.
I'll go to MoKan when I want drags.
I come to Salina to see Taildraggers and Lead Sleds.

 

ALOT of the car guys come for the drags....
insanity to jump the price that much although they have reasons to explain it.....

Looks like to me the Drags has grown to a point that it needs upgrades (porta pots,
security etc.,) we shouldnt expect to have the Titus to poney up and pay it. If the
drags are as kool as every one says then it will contnue to be kool. They're maybe less
people to watch and thats not going to hurt the Kool factor.

I did hear comments that the show was worth the entry fee just for Friday night Drags.
If that is the case then it will still be kool. I've never attended the Drags because I'm there
for the Kustoms and Hot Rods. The Spectacular is the Koolest Kustom show in the Mid West
and the drags is the Cherry on top.

Looking forward to this weekend, I'll be there within 24 hours.

the drags there are worth the 400+ mile trip & $10 for me, let alone the badass car show...... Not everyday you get to go see the show cars perform as well

You see all kinds of crazy stuff out there like old farm trucks w/ toppers wasting any competition to bare ass's in a big sombrero hanging out of a 4 door caddy last year too at no extra cost..... too weird!

 

Paul, is the 10 bucks for spectators or racers or both?

 

Yea, the mooning guys were funny as hell.

 

Not going to make it this year but I wouldn't have any problem paying 10 bucks for a car load of people to go down the strip. Hell, have all the hikers pay a dollar to ride down you probably make money. I can see it needing some up grades. Alot of brews are drank and not enough shitters around to get rid of it with out walking a distance. You all stay cool man, 2 beers 1 water and you'll go all day.

 

I'm pretty sure it's just for the draggers. Been wrong many times before though.

 

My dad, oldest son and I are comming down early on sat. This is our first time out to Salina. I would like to meet you so I will try to find you.

 

Hell i am not happy about it ,but i have payed more for less.
If it takes my 10 bucks to help keep it going i"m all in.

Is bright built hot rods doing an open house this year?? I've gone a number of years to the show but never made it out on thursday and was planning on getting there on thursday this year and thought I'd check it out if they had something going on...

 

yes, Bright is having a open house tonight at supper time. I will be there.
