I'm guessing the red car on the left is what you're refering to. Glad to see it still around. Whose was it originally and how did you come by it?

I've been told that this race at Willow Run in August 1966 is the last time Bobby Langley from Everman TX ran this particular car. [IMG]

thanks for the great pics 'partsrivet'. i was born in 1970 so these pics were a little before 'my time' but my dad (R.I.P.) used to take me to Tulsa, OKC and Ardmore dragstrips when i was a small child. man.. the memories of the staging lanes being packed with cars (especially at night), seeing the 'big names' of Topfuel and Funnycar etc in Tulsa at the Springnationals....i'm so glad i was able to experience that. There used to be a guy out of OKC that my dad knew named Jerry Harris (i think he may have had a speedshop) that drove a badass dart swinger...that thing would really haul ass! it's funny what you remember sometimes. thanks for the memories!

well, he wouldn't know me from 'adam' but if you happen to run into him...please tell him 'this kid' really enjoyed seeing him race that mean green dart!

    Great Pics,

I raced the OKC fairgrounds almost every weekend from 1961 to 1964, knew of and knew most of the guys that were out there.

I drove a H Stock 55 Ford, ONG green at first then in 1963 I painted it red.

I never took or had any pics of the fairgrounds, I don't even have a pic of the 55 and I spent most of my time in or under it.

About three years ago I drove down the old OKC fairgrounds dragstrip several times, it was still there even the starting line and timeing box pole and most of the shutdown lanes and again I diden't take a pic of it while it was still with us (diden't even think of it). Sadly it's a brand new parking lot now!

Keep the pics comeing, maybe someone will post a few from the fairgrounds.

    Thanks, Fred
