    Hey everyone,

I have a 53 that I'm looking to bag. I'm planning on using trailing arms with bags for the rear end and would prefer not having to cut the trunk or notch the frame. If anyone has done this would you mind sharing how low you can go and what size tires you are running.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mike

new to the air ride game not sure what trailing arms are. but my cars bumper sits about 3 1/2 inches of ground body sits around 1 inch - 1 1/2 inches closer to ground.i am running under axle brackets with reinforced 4 ft bar going from one side of frame to the other bags obviously right under frame welded to bracket. only three springs....and it lays pretty dang low, without any frame modification done

  7. Even though I don't have bags she's pretty low. Posie rear springs, 2" lowering blocks, front coils cut 1 1/2 ring. 6.70x15 tires and no kick-up to the frame. Her body is lower 2" over the frame though.

That's awesome. Did you cut the original cross beam down? I was laying on the ground the other day under my car just staring at the suspension thinking of a way to do that. Great job! is there a thread about this?

Thanks man, this is my first attempt at a chop. Schaefer on here has been giving me loads of advice and helping me tons with this. Didn't want to cut too much as its a coupe and wanted it to flow with the rest of the body of the car.

Just finished the suspension, need to make a few adjustments to get it level with the rear, but you get the idea of where it will sit

Sorry about what happened to it once it got into the hands of the 'psychobillies' here in Reno. Its now rattle canned flat black with broken windows and has a big dent in the rear quarter. Last time I saw it at least..

In my opinion, the stated facts put your Chevy a few steps above the rest.

    Looks very nice.
