56 f100 brakes

I am using f100 brakes on my sedan and the grease cups are very in the way is there any one who has gotten rid of the grease cup and used a regular pound in seal instead thanks guys

Will I be ok without that cup thanks a ton Baron that was fast

 

I have been running that same set up with out the cups for the last 30 years(on a number of cars). The cups were there for the old rawhide seals . Once they started to leak(and the did), the cups kept the grease off the brake shoes. With the new seals you'll be good to go for 100K miles.

Here are some National Seal numbers that will also work.
473440, 450461 or 450273.

 

You don't use a pound in seal "instead," it is used these days whether or not you use the cup.

 

i did not know that as long as i dont have to use the cup im golden and baron im assuming these will work on the 42 to 48 spindles

 

the Napa seal #15214 is for a shaft that is 1.500" in diameter , the part where the seal rides on an old ford spindle is 1.562"......but i'm sure it will work fine

national 473440 is also for a 1.500" shaft , so is 450461

i use national # 473441 which is for a 1.562 shaft
