Great looking dash! Nice price on the alternator too! I paid the full O'Reilly's price for my converted one wire!
I never knew the alternator trick...I'm not sure if you can find a Fastenal but I found stainless 1/4 20 x 1 allen head button head bolts for pretty cheap...I used a discount from my employer but I bought a bag of 20 or 30 and a piece of all thread for under $6.00 and I don't think our discount is that great maybe 10% tops. And I can't stop using them!
Being a retired electrician, I went to one of the supply electrical supply houses I used to buy from and got 0 awg. welding cable also. Not only is it more flexible, but the fine strand wire has a higher amp rating than other electrical conductors, and the outter sheath can be in different ratings too. I got a cable rated for rough use, so it would be more resistant to physical harm. Borrowed a crimping tool from one of my "stilll working" buddies and crimped on ends.
Thats the same wire I've got in my Plymouth but its only 2ga welding ground wire...but yes much cheaper, and nice and flexible! I'm really interested to see how the insulation works!
I like the fact that you're closing up the glove box. Will look a lot cleaner and it's a place that gathers junk anyway. Still looking good!
Gassers don't need a glovebox. The plate will look way better! Mine didn't come with a door when new, as that was an option. I mounted my fuse panel behind the opening and used a chrome dash insert from an early 50's Chevy truck to cover the opening.
Hope you didn't get any over-spray in the pool. I did that once to my Moms next door folks pool with black while painting a frame.
The dash looks great...I was going to try and finish my dash this weekend but ended up making a battery box, install shifter, finished the floorboards, and fabbed seat pedistals.... If it is like it is here in Central WI you will need to wait until Sept. for the humidity to go away to paint.....been so hot and humid that my painting projects have been sidelined.. Tom

Dash is very nice! Well laid out, and finished! The C10 is also great! I've got a '69 C10 2wd Suburban as my daily driver.
I haven't had great luck filling them with grease. Usually got a face full of grease when I smaked the driver with the hammer, and not much movement. Threading it and using a bolt to bottom out and extrct it has always worked easier. They're so simple to tap threads into!
Looks Bitchin! Its awesome to have the little helpers be interested isn't it! Looks like you got a good helper there! What are your plans for Intake/Induction and do you already have another set of heads or is that what you meant by sending them to the machine shop?
I think he's tellin you to mke sure and take these plugs out of the exhaust ports before the headers go on!
This thing is coming together nicely, love that Mopar body and the big fenders. Lots of family men on this forum, love it. Lucky man indeed!
plumbid i was just wondering why that steering arm has to be that high ??? Only my opinion but it would be a lot stronger if it was triangulated.
