Here's a little update...added some '54 Dodge trim like Don Carrol's Gaylord-built shoebox, and a grill reminiscent of the Bear Kustoms-built Bob Dofflow shoebox.

So glad this build is back up on here!

  6. Cool. Trim looks good (the whole car is looking good), nice to see some custom trim when damn near everyone seems to be into clean shaving these days (myself included).

Love the lines of the chop now and great work on the tailights. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing your build.

Here's a small update...my friend has the bodywork just about finished and we're planning on getting the car in a sealed flat paint next week just so I can get her running/driving and have some chrome done. After I get all the bugs worked out and we both have enough time, we'll blow the car apart and paint it the dark metallic plum (Wally Welch purple color...)

Build is looking good. The little things your doing that most people will not even notice are what make the car yours and not the masses. good job

Thanks for the kind words, guys! The grey on it now is just primer...going to run in a flat maroon paint (sealed) for a little bit and make sure everything is tits, then we're going to paint it glossy dark plum metallic asap...

Your shoebox is looking great, love the side trim, tail lights and that overrider bar on the back bumper is killer.

Here is a small update...my friend, Octavio, has worked his tail off finishing up the bodywork and getting my Ford into a quicky flattened maroon paint so I can focus on the mechanical things and get her back on the road. We're still going to paint it glossy down the road. I stripped and painted my engine and sent everything out to be re-polished, engine bay is painted, and I started to install the sidetrim. Once I finish college this December, I will really have more time to wrap everything up- my goal is the Temecula Rod Run in March.

Who'd you get those skirts from? That's a shoebox that sure sits pretty. I'm diggin' the '54-'55 timeline vibe a lot.
