Im in sacramento so im close to the show, but dont get out that way to often so I was wondering is there a gas station close by to the casino? Just thinking about the out of town guys that might be "Bombing" in at the last minute on a low tank of gas might need to know where the closet one is?

I used the "google" and came up with gas stations around thunder valley, the casino is the grey square on athens ave and industrial ave one the map :

Hey all of you Hambers look on the Poor Boys web site for lots of info on the show.Saturday July 7th Thunder Valley Casino the 9th annual Sacramento Poor Boys Midnight Mass
www.scaramentopoorboys.com and follow the Facebook link .We are on facebook under Poorboys/Sacramento Poor Boys,Midnight mass event ,Thunder valley event page and places I dont even know about..
Look at the map.All show cars take the Sunset Blvd exit .It is a smooth paved road all the way in (yeah no dust this year) follow the signs and avoid the Railroad tracks on the 12 bridges entrance.Huge place this year nobody will be turned away. $5 for spectators,$20 show cars and free parking at the casino for 4,000 cars and $5 dollars for preferred parking closest to the show. * bands and a pinup contest. The Goodie bags will be fuller than ever includes a shop wrag with the artwork for Mass and a coupon for a free show poster
and a we have 800 of them .No Pre registration. Read the rules as no out side alcohol is allowed and cars may searched ( not the Poor Boys idea)....hide it good if you must..The Sacramento Poor Boys are looking forward to seeing all of you and this years show is going to be off the hook!!

Looking forward to the event. Leaving Knightsen around noon. Don't trust any of my daily's to make it that far without some issue so I'll probably trailer the '34 Vicky or the '26. Got lucky.....wife was able to score a room. Hope to see you there.:)

No pre regristation was necessary just show up with an appropiate car we will let you in the gate from 9 am to 9PM remember to take the Sunset Blvd exit(good road /no dust this year) and follow the signs .Go to www.scaramentopoorboys.com and under events is tons of info including a map on how to get there. We set up the lights last night as there are 64 acres well lit to show off you car even at night.Dont let the weather reports scare you as I have been out all day at the site for three days and there are many shade areas and a little breeze at times and and night it is bitchin Sould have seen the moon last night over Mass.Dont miss this one!!

I dont see why we couldnt? Im bringing mine. Theres no gambling in the lot right? lol Did they say what their reasoning was at the last show? I know kids can go into casinos with an adult they just cant be at the tables or slots, and they can eat at the restaruants inside. And it should sate on the flyers as well as the casino website if its not on there they shouldnt be able to turn us away. I checked the thunder valley website and couldnt find anything stating 21 and over. I did not however check the poor boys flyer.

First off how is it that you will not allow spoked cars after 60.... A little ex cert from YOUR (poor boys) web site ---The Sacramento Poor Boys chapter had a few challenging years. Initially they were not accepted into the mainstream hot rod community. Shunned and disregarded for their traditional home built cars, lifestyle and values, they were not welcomed or even allowed to attend some of the shows. --- That's a way to do to others what was done to you. I get it its your show but last time i checked at lowrider shows we welcome all. I can tell you this for a fact. In the lowrider community you lose big respect for not allowing our cars to an event where lets face it your LOW style of car came from lowriding. Any ways I would suggest that you re-think what you will and will not allow at you shows. I know I wont hate on your style of car but hey that's just me. I guess my values are greatly different from yours.

  14. Well one you won't see is me, they just turned me down with the dragster, seems they wanted me to take it off the trailer and drive it in...... something about no trailers, I can see it for trailered show cars but a flathead rail job behind a 36 flathead powered truck, well up theirs............

PS from their website: "- Vintage drag cars can be trailered in- cool points if you drive it to the show" I guess someone should tell their gate guys......

Carl, sorry that happened. It was a great show as usual. I saw a fenderless truck with independent suspension in the show - a stated no-no. I would be in favor of the show considering being more inclusive just as they wished others were with them. :)

  16. Whoops! They fucked up Carl. That should not have happened.

  17. We did invite you to our show Carl....

U sir are a tool. U join the hamb to make your first post about bad mouthing a show? It's their show. Get over it. And our "low" style of cars came from hot rods wanting to handle better. Not an impala with hydros.

I would say it was not the biggest ever, in fact I was suprised at the lack of attendance. Its a bummer they had to have it on a day with multiple shows but Im sure thunder valley probably gave them that day and no other choice. It was a party atmoshere more than a carshow.

  23. Yep.... Drunkin idiots and their drama everywhere! I loved some of the cars but I could do without the "scene".

worst midnight mass ever.....here is an idea for all of us....in my opinion Gibson ranch was the best place for a show of this size. at midnight when the show lets out lets not act like idiots, so that possibly the show could be welcomed back the following year with open arms....2012 show was on a hot asphalt frying pan, with no tree or shade in sight, if its held at thunder valley next year, i think attendance would be even worse....but for me its about the cars and family .

Don't take my post the wrong way, I think the venue itself is good and as for hot sure its july, but the show is going to be what the attending people make of it. Competing with other shows is what made it hard. Hopefully next year thunder valley will give them a better date. I don't think this show will ever get rid of the "drunken idiots" as someone said but that's ok just don't be one and do your own thing. I have always brought my family to this show and had a good time any show at night Is going to have the party vibe its to be expected. It's just that in my opinion the carshow part this year suffered do to other shows. I still think we should all support the show or the next thread we will be commenting on is the one titled "remember when there were carshows?" None of us want that right?

4years ago midnight mass did not have to worry if there were 20 car shows on its date....but hey this sight is for our comments and thats what its about ,not to bitch , but to make things better, and comment on the things we love and dont love.....

I had a great time. Even tho my car wasn't finished yet. I met a lot of cool peeps and seen some bad ass cars! Gibson Ranch was a cool spot but this show is at different spot every year. Summer is in full swing. Did u expect it to be 65 out there on that asphalt? I don't think so! That is why I went, when it started to cool down. Just my opinion, y'all.

  28. I love midnight mass and always will. I would rather watch a few drunk people make fools out of themselves than have another old man tell me my car is a pos like at other shows.
Yeah there were many other shows going on, which i think hurt it, knockout and mass are both well liked shows, and two long shows like that are just too much in one day.
Mass is still the leader in my opinion when it comes to shows. Yeah it was a little smaller, but i still had a damn good time.

I say, thank you poor boys for another damn good show

me and my cousin both brove our cars from santa rosa ca, to the knock out and then to mass. wasnt to much in one day for us. but all the shows on one day did hurt it a little i think. but we had a blast, there was some great cars out there and i thought it was a good venue. gibson ranch was good last year, but things change. so why not make the best out of it and have a blast, its all what you make of it.
