I wanted to know if anybody has pics or know people that have chopped a 53/54 Chevy 210 or Bel Air 2 door post, and kept the window surrounds and stainless pieces on the top half of the car... Iv'e used the search function but havent found anybody that has done it. I want to do a mild chop on my car, but love all the stainless! That's why iv'e been holding back. Is there a place that people go to for something like this? I know some polishers can do some nice stuff (like shave the wiper openings on the belt line) with the stainless. But i know this is kinda different (especially if I plan to lean the B pillars foward a tad). So, thought it wouldn't hurt to ask you all here on the H.A.M.B. Any ideas? Thanks fellas!
It has been done. A ton of work, but totally worth it imo. And the belair has tons of stainless to work over. A major tedious job!
Yetis, by chance is he on the HAMB? or is there pics of it?? thanks for the response man! I'd figure it would be some work. I have the 210 model, but the 210 has just as many little pieces as the bel air i think...as far as the top goes anyways.
Here is a perfect specimen of a nice 210 that i believ belongs to a HAMB'r Dirtbag. Hope it's cool i use this pic for my photoshop chop..
the 210 has single door window trim, the belair is double layered, twice as much. search 54 chop and see what you come up with. also, i think there is a 53-54 chevy thead here along with social groups too. ill dig around as well. i love the stainless. sure its easier to just keep the belt line moulding and chiop it, but if you want some wow factor and something different, keep the stainless. warning, very time consuming and costly if you have it done. but looks amazing.
Thanks Yetis for the help man! Iv'e looked everywhere on here, and tried different variety of search titles..but can't seem to find someone that left the window/door trim on their chop. I'll check the 49-54 chevy groups though. Thanks!
I can't answer your question but I love the car in the pic. I have a side view that is the screen saver on my computer
