Now that I'm just about done saving this 31 A Tudor, I thought I'd take some time to share a Model A abortion that came into my possession in August of 2009, that I'm now proud to call my first true HOT ROD.

I'm only sharing these photos in order to appease the HOT ROD gods, and to assure they realize that the sins committed were not my own.

This needs to serve as a warning to others of the vengeful fury that should wrath anyone attempting to bastardize anything in such a fashion.

THIS IS NOT A VOLKSWAGEN THREAD, I GUARANFNTEE.....................

First, the BEFORE, and I warn you, it ain't pretty............

Day 2...........the black bag was there to hide my shame from the rest of the world. Why was there a "transaxle" in that gaping hole?????

I like the way you get the exposed VeeDub handing out the back while still preserving the original A firewall - Oh wait! They had to cut the tail off to do that? Oops my bad...

After much soul searching the gods directed me to the "chosen" ones. Wes, Denny (aboner), and Denny's son John. A pair of deuce rails were the first offering on the road to forgiveness.
By this point, the German parts were becoming a distant memory, the only proof saved in photos, if only for ensuring that history does not repeat itself. A HOT ROD is born.........

At this point, satisfied with the result this far, the gods grant a rest period. A period of "gathering" commences between spring 2010 and Dec. 2011...............

Yeah it's an SBC, but look at what it DID have before you pass judgement....
.060 over 327, 11:1, solid lifter Engle, 202 heads, etc. All parts donated by my Father in law, even the valve covers, how could I say no????
Muncie, shifter, clutch, bell donated by my dad, no brainer says I, add another pedal...........

My "grille". Perforated .063 thick aluminum with 3/16" holes mounted to the radiator with spacers. The shell slides right over.

I needed a little room for the Mallory dual point, but wanted to avoid the "big" recess to keep as much go pedal room as possible. I also added a small angle piece across the bottom of the firewall for strength.......
