Man I love my 28-30 coupes but I just keep coming back to thinking of building a 32 truck!! I have had several opportunities to buy a truck but it just wasn't the right buy..I would have to sell off one of my coupes to foot the 32 truck:( but sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do. My wife said this morning I'm tired of hearing about a 32 truck for the past 10 years sell one of them damn cars and get your 32 truck!!! The good thing about the wife now finally after 18 years I finally got her to go to a cruise in and now she is hooked ::cool: I'm just ranting:D

I have always thought the closed pickup is one of the very best looking '32's. I prefer it to most of the passenger bodies except roadster and tudor...
Think the bed is too long? Your perspective needs perspective...start viewing it as a nice place to sleep!

  6. Knew a guy in high school that had one, Olds Rocket powered, sold it in the mid 80s. Wonder what ever became of it.

i wouldnt rule out 33 or 34's. a bit more leg room goes a long way!!

  8. Ditto on the 33's or 34's, In my case the leg room is not really a concern, it is the size of my chest and belly and long arms I need to worry about. As I said, Ditto on the 33's or 34's!

Does it have the doors? If so, your 90% ahead of everyone else........Heck, you could sell the doors to pay for the build of the truck (less the doors).

Don't feel bad Rats28, we are in the same boat! I have always wanted one of these trucks BAD, but have always had them come up at exactly the wrong time to even consider the purchase or trade. Some day though...

After keeping my '34 for almost 20 years I finally gave in to a friend that had been trying to buy it forever. At first I was kinda relieved having the extra space to spread out the rest of my stash but every time one of these '32-'34 pickup threads start I feel a pang of regret.

  18. I know the feeling, I just finished a 2000 km drive to go buy a 33.
1000km there, couldn't strike a deal, half hour later I was in my truck with empty trailer headed 1000 km back home. Stopped for 2 hours sleep at the 20 hr point.
Yeah, I kind of have a thing for these trucks too.

i hate having to sell my 33, so im driving it as much as i can before it goes! the blue one i built a few years ago for a guy, i think he made it to three shows before he had to sell it, now its all the way on the east coast.:( i always look for pics of it at shows but none yet... although a fellow hamber did send me link to it being unloaded off the transport when it arrived in Maine!

I know the feeling. I want one of these in the worst way. To me its the be-all perfect mix of roadster/pickup/hotrod/shop truck.
    I will have one.

I just sold a barn fresh disassembled '33 PU on Ebay for $1600. I couldn't believe no one bid any more than that. I had to sell it fast to pay a property tax bill. The buyer got lucky - it should have gone for twice that. Because it was in pieces I wasn't willing to ship, but he was willing to drive to get it. I posted it on the forums first, but every responder just wanted to procrastinate and ask endless questions as if they had all year, or as if I were trying to cheat them. Big mistake - when a good deal comes you can't hesitate. They're not making these things anymore, folks.

Absolutely agree - just about a half a foot too long. Nice truck.
