Well... after 3 years and a lot of procrastination I finally got my 36 roadster painted.

Here it is shortly after I bought it:

When I bought it from Hamber Titus it did not have an interior or top. I chopped the top myself and Titus' wife, the Stich Bitch, made the canvas and seat covers. I did a quick paint job in flat blue and drove it for a year.

I decided to paint the roadster again myself, but this time a little nicer. I have a dozen garage paint jobs under my belt. I spent the winter welding in patch panels and straightening every square inch of the body. It was not straight to say the least.

Being a cheap fart, I bought a gallon of OMNI base black 9700 from eBay for $67 and local gallon of OMN clear for $100.

Well, after a bunch of applications of Bondo and many hours of the idiot stick and guide coats, I painted it. I use a turbine HVLP system, which I like a lot.

I got it done the day prior to MSRA Back to the 50's car show here in Minneapolis. I was very pleased with the final result.

    Here are the photos....[IMG]

Nice job, but you are not allowed to say that you spent only $200 on the paint job on this site...haha

I'm impressed. Gave me a fresh breath to get going at breakneck speed again.

Very nice detailing. (Man, that seat cover is perfect! Look at the corners...Hard to do!)

I think it looks great and you came out smellin' like a rose!! I wish I could pull off a $200 paint job, I think that is what I spent on just the reducers alone for mine................

But I bet you spent more than $33 on filler, primer, abrasives and welding materials...;)
