Thanks. The Executioners built a mock up of the car dealership from American Graffiti as you can see, complete with giant rocking chair :) Unfortunately the Moon Dragster has a bit of a run in with the armco on the strip :(

So, here's some more to go with Nick's! Where do we start...how about last Friday (seems like years ago!), rolled onto the site about 5pm after a great drive along tree lined roads for the last leg of the journey, and found what looked like was about to be a great weekend...

Saturday and the sun was shining, we parked on the showfield, everything and everybody came to life and the day was as kool as you could have wished for....

Sunday was when Belgium lived up to it's reputation as the wettest country in Europe, people started to leave early becuase of the rotten weather, and some of us retired to the bar in the hotel for a few quiet beers....

Monday (hang on, was this only yesterday...?) and you know how it's not just the getting there, but the journey and the impromtu photo shoot as well?. Don't know what freaked out the normal folk most, the additions to the normal autoroute traffic, or the free car show when everyone turned up at the same gas station......

The cars look cool! Were the monk's set up in a beer tent? A little cinq-cent on tap, perhaps?

    Great pics! Thanks for sharing!!

BTW - I'd really like to know how the locals pronounce "Chimay"...

I've been drinking their ales for years, but everyone here in the States has their own pronunciation of the name.

    TIA

...after a few bottles you tend to forget how to pronounce your own name, never mind what you're drinking...

  16. Be careful with the trappist ales, they'll mess you up fun time!

Nick, great photos as usual, love the ford with haystacks, bit much just to lower the car though ;)

If mine is ready I'll be heading to the 2nd event over there in 2013!

  25. The hot rod shows I've been to throughout Europe have all been a blast. That's one of about four things I miss about living in Germany. Fun times, to be sure.
