Did it actually hit? Was there any damage? The video stops before impact.

There is a second video on YouTube, showing it being loaded on a flatbed on the track. Appears to spun around before striking the barrier. Can't see the damage.

  7. It did hit, there's a couple other video's that show it loaded on the tow truck, doesn't look lie it was hurt bad though. Hard to tell.

is it just me or do dragsters idle differetly in Belgium?

  9. Was wondering the same, different fuel maybe?

  10. Was Dante Duce at the wheel, oh wait, that was The Wedge...

  11. I think they have to lean them out, and up the idle to get them to handle the syrup.... that's why it sounds a little waffly.

yes, that was a belgian waffle joke. I apologize.:)

Glad he's alright, but why no burnout? Were the slicks wet?

That's good news! What a bummer that it hit at all though.

I beleive they don't do the burnout to keep the heat out of the tires that way they can just burn the hides all the way down the track.

Seen Garlits do it a few years ago, pretty damned impresive!

Ouch:eek:! Hope the driver is OK!?
Have seen that dragster in action in Sweden several years ago
The driver floored it, held the pedal down way to long, i think he got to the full mile mark before he stoped pulling. It ended up clipping a cain at the end of the track damageing the oilpan and front wheels:eek:!
But put on a great show, first time a saw a good wheelie with heavy smoke:D!

  20. Dante died several years ago... Mr. Shige, the owner of Mooneyes was in the seat, and is OK.

  26. Kirk - Were you un-banned? If so Welcome back - :D or were you even banned? I just seemed to think you were. I am probably wrong.

Wonder if the throttle stuck. Glad he's not hurt. Man. That's a lick.

Nope, not banned, just taking a break from the HAMB. It's a little too crowded.
