Decided to sell my 50 Olds so I put an add in a few publications.... every damn phone call I get is.......
    Does it have power brakes.....no
    Does it have power steering.....no
Does it have disc brakes..... no
    Does it have AC......no
Does it have a new front clip....no
I told the last guy "for christ sake, if you want a cadillac escalade then go buy one!!"

People are stupid, when my dad sold his 55 chevy he clearly stated that it did not have a motor or trans. One guy called and asked what motor was in it and if it ran. We told the guy it had a blown 454 in it and ran 10s. The idiot actually showed up and got pissed and said we lied and I said did you even read the add? If you ask a stupid question you get a stupid answer...

I listed a car one time and said "Project car, no motor or transmission." A lady called and asked if I thought it would make it to Chicago without breaking down !:D All I could say was, "Did you read the ad, it has NO MOTOR !" :D

I get stupid questions just DRIVING the damn thing, so I know I'm in for a treat when the day comes that I actually decide to list it for sale.

Just today, for example... Older guy, probably sixties...
"Is that a 31 or a 32... Gotta be a 32 because of the front, right?"
    "Um... no... it's a 53..."

Hahaha, man, if people are going to hazard a guess at a year, you'd think they could at least hit the right decade.

Thats what I was thinking. My girl (at 11 years old) has been around the shows enought to at least be able to differentiate cars by the decades!

  12. I had one of those. Model T bare body. Guy calls and asks if it would make it all the way back to flagstaff.I told him as long as he tied it down tight, it would. :D

Another guy ventured a guess of '58 at the Walgreens. I politely explained that most of the models from about 57-59 had fins, and that was generally a way to get CLOSE. But the first guy... Wow.

And if I hear "How much you want for it?" one more time...
I just say "All the info is on the For Sale sign in the window."
Then they say "What For Sale sign? I can't find it..."
To which I reply "I guess it ain't for sale, huh?"

  14. had an a-hole call me today about my 63 bird, asked two questions; how much [it's in the add] and how long have you been trying to sell it. [i said the add went out last night] so he hung up.

And if it was a younger guy who was maybe just checking out the car, though it was cool, maybe just trying to strike up a convo or something, eh I would have cut him some slack and taught him a few things. But this guy was OBVIOUSLY at least the same age as the car, maybe a little older. This is a car he would have grown up around. I was floored.

Had a wheeler dealer show up at the house to look at a car I had for sale. Add specifically mentioned the price and the words FIRM in capital letters.

First thing he wanted to know was how long it had been for sale, and what kind of offers I had been getting. I told him I wasnt taking "offers", and that the price was in the add.

    He left without the car.

Well he isn't very clear! In the header he list them as cement block and in the body of the add he says they are cinder block. Now there's a big difference between the two! they do appear to be cement from the picture though.

I wonder of the block guy knows if they come with power steering, brakes, and AC? Do you think I can drive 'em all the way back to Cape Cod without a problem?
