    From the above link...

"Shelby married surviving spouse Cleo Shelby in Las Vegas in 1997. But the marriage had problems and Shelby had a divorce petition pending in Texas."

Fabulous. Apparently "Rest In Peace" is a misnomer.

  5. Maybe he can hang out with Ted Williams. It's a sick sad world we live in.

You have got to be kidding me... this is not the respect that Carroll Shelby deserves! Surely, he had some sort of wishes that could be honored. Come on, you so called family members and loved ones! Come on court systems:( Lets get this resolved and lay this matter and Carroll to rest now. Don't be so damn selfish... quit thinking about yourselves and think about the man, the legend and the hero that the world lost. The loss is not just your own. I can't believe that I just read this story:confused: This is un- believeable and unimaginable!

This isnt a fight over the body, the funeral, or the flowers....it is a control issue. The estate is probably worth a tidy sum and the rights to the Cobra name and logos will be in demand for quite a while. Whoever gets control of the body and the funeral rights has some leverage in the disposition of the assets.....the winner will try to declare his last documents invalid if those documents contradict the winner's wishes.....shame, the poor guy needs to get the proper respect.

May I respectfully suggest Mr. Shelby is at rest...he's dead. He no longer controls his destiny...nor what happens to his body.

The fight is to see who controls his empire...and that means mega-millions to someone...not Mr. Shelby.

Money is always at the bottom of these family disputes. The vultures come out before the person is cold. Very sad, but classic. :(

  25. I alway sorta felt betrade by Carrol in his later year he kind of sold out into this new electronic age..Forgetting about his roots in raw horsepower in exchange for the use of his name and a handful of cash....Remeber the Shelby Dodge Omni? But he will alway be remembered as God father of speed to all of us old dudes that were around when this hole thing started!!!

Well guy's it sucks when something like this happens, he does not deserve this treatment.....But this is why we all need to make a will. Then this does not happen to us.

The man never was a "do it by the book" kind of guy. I am betting he'd be smiling over all the sillyness.

I ain't a religous guy, but those that are will tell ya the body is just a vessel, his soul is already at it's final destination.
