Chevy Inline Six CUSTOM INTAKES

    In the past I've seen pictures of home made intakes that guys have custom built for their inlines. If you've got a custom intake, lets see some pictures! Or even if you just have other pictures of intakes that aren't yours, lets see 'em!

    Not a chevy, heres one i just finished with 3 1bbl holleys and it was just wicked!

    wondering how a 292 with 2 progressive Webers would work/look.

    I like that linkage setup, nice and clean. How is it linked to the pedal? Is it mechanical or is it cable actuated? And do you have more pictures?

    Here are a couple of a restored stock car that is owned by a guy I know. I believe it's a GMC 6, homemade manifold. There is a removable "cap" in place so the valves didn't warp when cooling down. This car used to keep up to and BEAT the 57 Chevies running 327s. It was called the "Chicken Coupe" because he actually had a live rooster that rode with him in the car. The car was driven by Lyle Nabbefelt, of Wisconsin Rapids. He was later killed in a different car.

    It is the stock cable. The linkage is progressive, the 1st pic shows when i was making the linkage pieces and they are at wot.

    These are all lookin' good.

    Cody - Do you mind givin' us a run down on how you put that together? Did you use any parts off an existing intake or do you do all the casting and fabwork? and what carbs are those?

    i used and clifford triple webber intake and three datsun 240 z intakes and mated them togther , the carbs are su 's off of the 240 z here are some pics

    now the crazy part is i got it all done , and then i find a brazillian 12 head for my 292 so of corse i had to modify the intake again .

    What kind of welding technique did you use for the cast aluminum?

    Ok guys I know there's more of you out there with custom intakes!

    Im diggin that 300 intake, im gonna try and make a similar one for 3 1bbls. If one 1bbl is good 2 more should be better right? :D

    lol of course! As long as you open up your exhaust too!

    Nice. I need to get me a TIG someday. I keep watching for a good deal on one on craigslist but not running across one yet.

    yah it makes for a much nicer job , i went out and got one of thoes miller 165 diversion about 4 years back and i love it ( matter of fact thats the last time i picked up a mig ) , i too was looking around for a used tig and i found that for just a little more than most people were asking for a used tig i got that new .
