Art & Inspiration Upside Down Two-Tone?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by supercharged, Jun 14, 2012.

  1. I am starting to plan out my next project and wanted to do a different syle of two-tone paint, but the only examples I can locate are the standard dark on the bottom and light on the top.

I was going to go white on the bottom, but would like to see "examples" of cars with a white or light color on the bottom and something else on top, brfore I head off that direction.

Has anyone out there have any examples they can post of an "upside down two-tone" that looks sharp?

careful, the lighter color can make the lower portion of the vehicle look "taller" or as if there is a space underneath. there was an editorial post in some rod magazine where the guy painted the top a dark color and light down low. it was a chopped and lowered Merc. He said the paint job visually negated all the bodywork.

  6. This is the sort of post I was after.
My only concern is how it may affect the temperature inside the car.
I had always been told old cars were two-toned so the lighter roof color help keep the car cool.
But I really like Chopolds' ride.

Here are a few I found on the internet. If done right, it can look really sharp.

I don't think that dark on the bottom was standard, I pretty much see it split pretty evenly.

Stock colors, stock locations, just took it up a notch...
