2012 Minnesota Back To The 50's Weekend

This is my 1st year going up for BTT50s and I am really freakin stoked! My question is: is there a sock hop at night? What's the hot ticket on Friday and Saturday night? I'd love to see some pinup girls in poodle skirts getting shakin it down to Buddy Holly! What are the must dos for the weekend? Thanks!

 

Is there gonna be a meet and greet this year? I'll be there in my 62 galaxie all weekend.

 

For those who haven't attended before.....

It's as much or more a "Street Rod Show" with people hanging out on lawn chairs by their cars than anything. There's starting to be more traditional cars every year, but there's also getting to be almost as many shitbox "R$% R*&s" as there are big wheel "DUB" cars!!!!!!!!!!

There is a great 3 piece rockabilly group playing at the band shell Saturday night.

With 11,000 cars, 300+ vendors, and the BIG swap meet on Sunday, you can easily spend 3 days, and not see it all.

If you have a car that you can get in there, I highly reccommend it, as with a show that big, it's really nice to have a place to sit and regroup/refresh yourself without having to drag a cooler and chairs all day.

Friday is probably the least crowded day, with Saturday being the worst. Good luck cruising or even moving through the street Saturday afternoon.

This will be the 34th year for me....20th driving my coupe.

 

20 Years in a row, wouldn't miss it for anything.

It will be here before you know it. I plan to check out as many Model A coupes as possible as I plan to build a 60's styled one as soon as my youngest graduates from college.

 

Can't wait! Me and 5 budies will be there .Always a Great Time!

Scrambling to finish body work on my wifes 64 impala. I got to at least get primer on it.

 

We go as a family every year. The kids love it all, the cars, the food, the people, the food. Did I mention the food? Hamline Church for chicken dinner is only second to the fresh chocolate chip cookies! I just checked thier website and they are still posting for volunteers to serve this year at BTTF. Sure looks like they're open!

Drove it today, just need to button up a few things mechanically then i can work on some "clean up" of the body, also have to get the 60 impala bucket seats mounted too. its not gonna be super pretty but at least it will run and drive good.

Never miss BTT50s....volunteer every year...always great fun and so many cool cars it makes my eyes sore from staring at em all!! Been long time since I have seen it covered in any of the national mags....their loss!! No more Porky's and the last year of the Drive -in movie

Be there Saturday for sure and maybe Friday.Suppose the annual meeting will be where it always has been.Someone will post the official coordinates.

 

Hoping my Ford will make the trip from Madison, WI to St. Paul w/ no trouble. If so, I'll be there. Thursday can't arrive soon enough.

Been going since '91 when my son was born. He is 21 this year so I gave him my Biscayne and he is driving her in. I put a new engine with 2X4's in it too boot. Heck this year Fri. is my birthday. Man I love BTT 50's
