I can't believe I am actually saying this, but get the Ford
Seriously though, the bowties looks great. However, the Fords are as common and they have great lines.

I say keep looking for a wagon if that's what you originally wanted.

Second choice would be the Ford, since you already had a Chevy. Variety is the spice of life my friend.

 

Well being that the only reason you sold your Chevy is to buy that wagon that was not good I'd either look for another wagon or build another Chevy. IF you liked it and the only reason you got rid of it were for the wagon.

I would pick the f100 ! but thats just me I love Fords !

 

A D-100 might be nice. Or an IHC or Studebaker pickup. Why stick to waffles when you can have flapjacks, johnnycakes, omelets...

 

Load up the family in the daily driver go to GG Columbus and find you a wagon.Both trucks look like they need more work than you have time for. You did say you sold the other truck to buy a wagon,not another pickup.But if its what you want,stick with what you know,the Chevy.

I've had a 64 Ford and a 60 Chev.. so similar

I'd lean toward the Ford. I did a disc conversion on mine and it was easy as pants. Chev was a nice truck, but the rust was astonishing. I did swap the tranny on the side of the road though

I just came back from crawling all over the f100..
Its so solid its scarey. Its way cleaner than the C10, by far.
It came from the Desert in Oregon, and has never seen bad weather or the metal killer they put down in winter here, salt.

Things I noticed: has a huge holley carb. Much more than I think it needs. Gas is way old, smells real bad.

Has a alternator. So Im assuming its been converted from a gen?
Has a filter of some sort below fuel pump..never seen that before. Im not a ford guy..

Its a floor shifted manual trans. He isnt sure if its a 3spd or 4spd.. was a 4spd a option?

All the glass is good. The steps inside the cab are rock solid. Wearing og paint I believe.

Im really leaning hard the f100 way.

As for selling the bagged C10 for a wagon, that isnt the whole reason I sold the truck. I sold it, and put about half the proceeds into the "house" fund. The wagon was just what we saw and liked, so that pushed me along faster.
No harm No foul if we dont buy a wagon right now.

Is the 327 a camel hump? I've had several classic fords and chevys... I liked them all. I've had 292's and 327's. If neither of the projects made me nervous and to get them to the same final stage was the same cost, this time I would pick the chevy just because of the 327 and 4 speed. I run a 327 camel hump in my roadster and it is evil, scary, wicked, quick! That being said, it is backed by a Ford 9" with 4:11's Its fun to ask what others think but in the end, do what you want, not what others want you to have

The ford is a no brainer. I am not even a super fan of that body style, but they are growing on me. I really like the 61-66 style.

Not a fan of the chevy's of the same vintage

 

I like the Ford, but then i'm a Ford guy. I am also pleasantly surprised at the number of die-hard Chevy fellers that are willing to consider the Ford. Either one would look good in my garage. Best luck with whichever you choose....jack

I prefer the later 50's Chevy pickups to the early 60's, and I think, as a Chevy guy, in this case I'd go for the Ford also. As far as wagons go, I'd love to have a late 50's Pontiac Starchief or a 57 to 59 Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth anything....

F100 all day. I gaurantee you will fall in love with The y block. Awesome motors. Maybe a 5 speed eventually would be The shit

How much are you going to drive it, and how much are you willing to alter them to make them drive well? You know how well the Chevys of that era drive, even bone stock. That Ford isn't going to drive the same, not saying anything negative, it's just hard to beat a 63-66 Chevrolet IFS trailing arm setup for a nice soft ride, at least when comparing stock equipment.
