I'm driving over Thursday morning from Prescott to make the Limeworks Open House. This will the be the last trip (that makes 5!) to the LARS in the old Blue Devil roadster since it will have a new owner this summer. I'm trading it to my contractor for a new shop to be built behind my house. We've had a lot of fun and 50,000+ miles together. <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/OL4p3qQL-JXQZ0S4nV7wfdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DCQkRgwdHQw/S4HOgLiB1dI/AAAAAAAADYo/1fzmZppd4dQ/s800/DSCN0106.JPG" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname=vintagehotrods&target=ALBUM&id=5440855201371234369&feat=embedwebsite"></a></td></tr></table> <table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/unKwdAqRApmaclYj9Q0uwdMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZmOzp5zopqc/S4HT_q13VoI/AAAAAAAADxY/LMvdrW6fyl0/s800/DSCN3422.JPG" height="600" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From LA Roadster Show and Road Trip 2007</td></tr></table>
I was in Lincoln, Ne. last Sat. nite to see Dave Gonzales and the Stone River Boys. John Swander from the Kansas City are and his pal Howard were there for the show on the way to the L.A. show, he was driving his bad ass #147 32 coupe. We all had a great time and it was cool to see John and his coupe, he drives his stable of dandys all the time. Rock on! ~sololobo~
More blatant and unashamed self promotion here. Just spent four days digging out years of stuff to take to the swap meet - including a load of rare period mag wheels and several Halibrand quick changes, wild intakes and induction systems. Prewar Ford stuff and Willys stuff - these two Willys cars will be there too and I will be listing several cars including a couple of original all steel Willys coupes, hemi engines and stuff. Its going to take me two days to load. Look for the EZ UP with the Willys signs sharing space with J&S Gear - the rear end specialists - may fly the Aussie flag too if I can find it. Drop by with $$$ or credit cards and say hi to the Weasel....
I'll be setting up a CAMB HAMB again this year. Look for the HAMB banner and my Merc. Should be closer to the show this year by the bathrooms on the south side. At least...that's the plan.
All you guys coming in from out of town, don't forget Bobby Waldens Open House,Friday 4pm to ? It's a CAN'T MISS event... Waldens Speed Shop 1040 Price Ave Pomona,Ca 91766 909-632-3747
Many of you know that we've been resurrecting Tom Medley's (Stroker McGurk's) ''40 Ford coupe that was all but destroyed in a garage fire last fall. Here's a before and some after pix. We'll drag it to Pomona tomorrow. The intent was not to have it done, but to give folks an in-person update on our progress. Come take a look for yourself. We'll be in the Hot Rods & Custom Stuff booth in Building 4. Stroker himself will likely stop by on Saturday. You can also see the full story on this project at: http://www.hotrodscustomstuff.com/latest-stuff/stroker-s-tom-medley-s-1940-rebuild-project.html
This will be my 3rd LARS. The 1st two I spent most of my time in the swapmeet since I did this as a day trip from the Mojave Desert. This year I am helping one of my car clup members in the swapmeet. We're dragging down 3 project cars and a chunk of rendom parts. I am looking forward to this perspective of the show. Hopefully I'll have a enough time to get out of the swapmeet for a few and see some cool rides. No matter what it'll beat being at work!
Lance, your going to have a blast. Look up BasicBob if you want to visit all the hidden treasures. The boys and I were able to make it out a few years back and UnkleBob made it a trip the boys will never forget.
