  6. Jim,
You captured the essence of a Dry Lakes meet very nicely. Loved your "action" pix!
I did 212 in the morning with new tires - missed a shift, but a good run nevertheless. Then my bud Rick got into the driver's seat and went 207 against a 15mph afternoon head wind and got his "A" license - he was a happy man!
I think the orange Costella-Jacoucci fuel streamliner had top speed of the meet, in the mid-220s.

Im always out there and never see any ladies? Where'd you find em? I'm the ugly guy in the sexy leathers. My bike had its new motor set up to run triple digits, unfortunately my ignition wasnt. After an 1.5 hr wind delay we got in 3 runs and only finished 1 (barely)

Was that an early Honda streamliner and was that wood work on the rear end?

The pics dont do it justice, you should hear it. Jill Iverson rides it, I think she runs in the low 100's?

  16. Great pic's buddy! Wish I could have gone. I'm just in too much pain, and the Dr told me to stay out of the sun. I just slept all day.....

  17. Great pictures Jim, you covered it all, roadsters, coupes , streamliners, pickups, lot of scooters, nice close ups and good look'n ladies........oh ya and me sit'n on my Elco tailgate, taking a break from my "Pre Stage" duties.
I think we had 74 cars and 7 bikes entered.
Next SCTA meet will be July 15th.

MY CREW IS THE BEST AROUND! Dennis Bassano Jr and Sr, Rod, Nick, Henry, Frank from DEIST oh, and Jack Costella the most amazing designer, builder, fabricator, genius, hero, legend and humble guy (that goes without saying).............facilitated the "Silver Bastard" # 8080 to secure the 750cc sidecar streamliner gas record. Hats off to the crew and all who helped out this weekend. SCTA, thank you for the hard working volunteers and tech inspectors (Matt and others). Thanks Dan Warner for the support.
I am the lucky bastard who gets to be around these great guys who can make things happen.

    Thank you for the photos!

That just made my day!!!!! Thank you for posting those. What cool coverage. I wouldn't care if the wind was blowing 90 mph and it was 150 degrees....I'd just like to go there someday!

Enjoyed the pix! What are the major difference between running here and the salt? As smooth? More convenient? Less salt (ha)? Gary
