I want to get cured of this car disease.

Since I retired, I have started and finished about 1 car per year.

When will it stop? I don't have enough time to drive them.

Finish the 47 Ford convertible and drive it to San Diego, then up the coast to Seattle to visit a good friend. I need to hurry, I'm getting older every day.

Go to the salt flats and run my (then) finished coupester like a bat out of hell. I want my wife and kids to be there to see me do it, even my folks. That's if one of these infernal diseases doesn't get me first XP

Finish my cars so my family isn't left to deal with the scrap. They are worth money finished but not when they are in pieces. Don't want to leave a mess for them when I go.

Build a HELLLUVA hot rod from scraps, make it a real head-turner, and drive cross-country and back with my son, showing him things he'll only otherwise read about in textbooks. Colorado River, crested buttes, Grand Canyon, giant redwoods, Route 66 (what's left of it), the Alamo, Great Salt Lake, the desert route, and everything in between. I want to teach him how to deal with a situation with what you've got readily available, how to meet and talk to people you don't know, and how to set a budget and stick to it. No cell phones, no GPS, no nothing. Just two guys, a machine, and a little bit of know-how. I want him to learn that technology is great, but you can't depend on it.

Then upon our return, hand him the keys and title to the car we just took on what I hope will be the most memorable trip he'll ever take with his old man. I figure two weeks on the road teaching him some REAL life lessons (as I'm sure they will crop up), and I'll be able to curl up and die without having to wonder if he's equipped to survive without me around.

    Love my little guy.

I want to drive New York to LA, in a hot rod I've built myself. Preferably a piss yella deuce coupe....

I want to visit Bonneville, in a hot rod, just to watch would do, but a 200mph pass would be good.

I'd like to make some sort of small business out of hot rod building, to subsidize my retirement, but I doubt that would happen when it takes me two years to even half finish a car.....

    1. Finish my '60 Olds flat top. Not only to drive it again after 5 years, but to know what color it will be. Then I can get my '60 Olds tattoo colored too!

    2. Also help my son build his car. He's 12 and doesn't have one yet, but wants a '56 Buick. Once he builds one for himself, he'll have a great foundation.
