This picture goes well with the above picture, same car company, both pre-war. Today we call them Nissan. I added a couple of pics of the one's in the Nissan museum too.

 

Jungle Larry and Mister Jingaling were two great kids shows in the mid- and late '50s out of Cleveland.

Then there was Paul Winchell and his wooden-headed side-kicks, Jerry Mahoney & Knucklehead Smith!

All great kids' shows from a more innocent era.

Speaking of live TV -- long gone but for "happy talk" over-paid "news" people -- Columbus and central Ohio were blessed for many years by the very talented Bob Marvin whose on-screen persona was "Flippo the Clown."

Where is this picture taken? In one of the old Studebaker structures in South Bend? Were the cars displayed there before the new museum building came to be? Who owns the old Studebaker buildings now and what is their future? As much as I like the new museum I would much rather see all those Studebakers in authentic surroundings...
Is the building below where those cars are photographed...if I would be rich I'd buy it as a home/garage....sorry for the hijack but I just love these old factories.

 

You guys that started talking about old kids programs ever heard of the Aunt Jus program? This Firemite made an appearance on the program in late 57. Not sure where, I only have the still from a Desoto dealer magazine.

 

What the heck were they thinking? Don't they know the engine goes in the rear?

Most all of the old Studebaker buildings are gone on the pretext of building for a new technology age in South Bend. May work out.... may not.

In west Tennessee Cousin Tuny ruled the 6 years old airwaves with Roy Rogers and Gean Audry movies with 30's vintage cartoons 5 days a week...

 

Yes, I witnessed that horror myself last summer...I just hope the beautiful buildings in the corner of South Lafayette Blvd and West Bronson St will survive. This quote is really disturbing;
