51 ford wagon build

this thing makes me feel funny - absolutely beautiful!

 

I can't get enough. I am not even a Ford follower, but this car may change my entire look out. You are truly a craftsman and you are building a true piece of art. Just like chevpickup said this thing makes me feel funny there is a tingling..... well I better stop before you think I am "Weird" Keep up the progress!

 

Wow this is a real first class build. Talent and patience. Makes me wish i never sold my Meteor wagon.

 

Thanks, guys. With the help of my tiny (4'7") wife, got the tailgate on today. It's got to weigh 150 lbs or more. The tail lights are original ford housings with the ends of 38 Chrysler housings welded on so I can run the 38 Chrysler lenses. These are the same as I put on my Hupmobile. I just love those late 30 Mopar tail lights. I also have a set of the full-basket Chrysler Airflow tail lights for my model A coupe (next build).

Here's another minor update. I've been waiting on the powder coater. Finally got my bumper brackets back and was able to install the rear bumper. Also added the tail pipe tips. Hope to get the hood hinges back this week so I can get the front fenders on.

maybe not CLEAN, but at least a little cleaner.

I'll have to give some thought to Wavecrest. I was hoping to make Woodies on the Wharf in June, but that looks unlikely.

I did get it out of my garage today. My friends Richard and Mike helped me get it loaded and hauled to Richard's shop to stage it for Dave Putman to start on the upholstery. He should start on my car later this week. Here are a couple of pic's. It's looking like a real car now.

In one of my previous post I said I wasn't sold on the color of the wheels but the more I study the newer photos I gotta admit I have had a change of heart.

Thanks again Guys. I'm pretty excited. The upholstery should be done next week. We still need to make it run. Ed Umland (Eddie's Chop Shop) and our friend Richard Smith are getting the intake together. I want it to come home under its own power. Richard Sides helped me get the visor on. Here are a few shots from yesterday. That's Dave Putnam upholsterer extraordinaire and sometime car polisher in the pictures.

Well, I haven't posted in a while. I was too busy trying to get her on the road. She made it to the Good Guys Pleasanton show this past weekend. I had not had her more than 5 miles or so from home before we started out Friday morning. Made it to Pleasanton (little over 100 miles) without a problem. Here are a couple pics. Having trouble uploading more. Will try later.
