Looks like your cam and valvetrain setup will provide a good base for experimentation when you get to that point. You can always replace this cam with one that has more lift & duration down the road. What compression ratio are you running now?
My thoughts are that you should worry about it "just going" at first. Just like me last year with my Henry J, the first time down the track was a little nervous. I didn't know if it would go left - right or straight off the line. Will it have death wobble at speed ? What if it pulls left or right when I hit the brakes ? Lots of other stuff to think about than just going fast, you can always go faster after you get going.
I just put the same exact cam in my 327 powered Austin. I also went with a pair ofaluminum head with 195cc runners, 64cc chambers, and 2.02/1.60 valves, and 1.6 roller rockers. Probably a little over .500" lift with the 1.6 rockers. My engine is 9.5:1 CR. It's a great sounding cam and runs out well, with good midrnage to high end power, but a little lacking in the under 2500 rpm range. Not a dog, but I can definitely feel it coming on stronger after 2500 kinda like a two stroke engine. I'm running a th350 with 2500 stall, and I'd guess you'll do better with the stick in your coupe.
I'm interested to see how it goes! I have a mild 350 bored 60 over with 194 valve heads and I have looked at the same cam for it! I'm just getting it all back to gether to get it on the road and I'll look around for a new one this summer!
Checked the cam specs and it refers to a midrange to high end so it looks like your cam is working like it should. If the cam "comes in" at 2500 rpm don't expect much below that. If you run a slightly higher stall the motor should be "on it" by the time you get lockup. Or just switch to a 4 speed, they're way more fun anyway!

Looks pretty good to me. Those master cylinders are a tidy set up! What kind of calipers are you using? Did you make the caliper brackets?

Ah! Good Man. Same here, I love the taste of Grain Belt and it doesn't give me a hang over. I guess the bad part about that is I tend to drink more! That being said, You have a great project going there! Keep up the great work and look forward to seeing it done!

I like the bung with stud weld on the axle housing...I need to finish my current projects so I can build an early car like yours....really looks great and everything a Gasser should be....
I can see your point about getting an axle out of an old truck. At least you know for sure its not some POS Chinese repop with metric machining.
