Some of you may have seen the first few pics I posted late last year of this project. It all came together the last few weeks in the form of a running, driving, automobile. I need to figure out how to download the short video from my camcorder so you can hear it with open headers.
After a Friday evening thrash/cleaning, the car looked absolutely beautiful.
We took our cars to the local show Sat. morning in Madison, IN (one of the few we ever actually enter) along the Ohio river and the Galaxie was awarded "Best Engine". Kind of funny that a "stock" engine won such an award.

Must give credit where credit is due! Jack O' Brian of "Jack's Automotive" in Madison, IN is the engine builder and installer for this 63 Galaxie. Not sure of the actual vehicle owner's name. It was really cool seeing it out and about after sitting dormant in the shop for so long!

The yellow and black Sunliner is a 55 not a 56.I believe the car was built a few years ago! ROY.

The motor was actually in the car when it arrived at the shop called Jack's Automotive, but it was hurt and in desperate need of a rebuild.

Excellent planning and execution. I'm biased toward black cars, wheels and dog dish caps..............You should be proud.......Mike

I was at a swap meet (Ford car show) a few years ago and that Sunliner and a 67 Fairlane GT drove in at the same time, from a distance you could hear a "big rumble" and I couldn't tell which of the two was making all of the noise, walked over to take a look,it was the 55 alright.

  22. 390,

GREAT Looking Galaxie.....Man, where did you find the kick ass colors and that engine to boot...What a combo.....WILD.

I have the same colors on my Galaxie, but not the engine......Have fun with it! Maybe we'll hook up for some pics together somewhere.

    Ultimate sleeper :D

  24. If the rest of the drive train is as stout as the SOHC, this thing is not only a sleeper but a street sweeper! Would love to take a fast ride in it.

Now, THAT is very well done! The rest of us can only dream...
Thanks for posting that up. Beautiful car.
A little inspiration to all of us Galaxie owners.

Nothing like a Cammer. One day I will put one in one of my builds. Just to say you have one :)

    Super job!

    OUTSTANDING!!
What a great build, with that sleeper affect! Nice simple looks, with a Cammer, and like Hvy said, a good bit of inperation for other Galaxie owners.

Any history on the car, itself?

This one car, and the 406ci, are the only cars that I just cant stop drooling over. Probably, IMO, one of the most underappreciated and overlooked cars.
