Neat story and 32 Chris. I thought for sure your story was going to go full circle with Darrell getting his High School Hot Rod back. What gives? He doesn't want it back?
I think Darrell would like to have it, and I think Adam would probably sell it to him. But only time will tell.
I took a look at the car two weeks ago, it is a nice old hot rod. Adam had just been sent the pictures the morning I showed up, he was pretty excited.
having the history on the car is priceless! having the chance to buy back your car after many years is really cool. i'm not a fan of the bobbed fenders but under the circumstances
I missed the part that you all now are friends with the owner in the 50s. Duh on my part. How cool is that for you guys. How young is Darrrel? Just curious as to how old he was when he first got it in he 50s.
Thanks for posting about this bitchin old hot rod ……. To me it helps offset the avalanche of crap here lately and sets the bar for what should be posted.
Well, the OP is posting as many as they can find in that corner of the country, and always posts some very cool stuff on a regular basis. Maybe he needs to teach us how to hunt better.
Naw man, the shit is all around. And I know bitchin when I see it and figure most of you guys do, too...so I post it Nothing better to do way up here
What an incredibly rad turn of events. Love this version.... I think I would be happy with just one car if it had some history to it.
I'm beginning to not like you PNW guys. All the cool stuff is up there. Don't hate me but I kind of.. sort of.. just a teeny tiny bit.. think that early '70's version is pretty cool looking too. I prefer the first picture however. Is it just me or does that look like a C10 in the background with the camper? It could very easily be a Ford pick-up though.. Just trying to pick out all the details in the pictures.
I was looking at that also yesterday. I can't tell if that is a wrap around windshield, but if it is, it'sa 63 Chevy truck. If a flat W/s, it is 64-66. I am not sure what we see, because it looks out of scale. But, if the pic is late 62, 63, or even 64, the 53? chevy car would not be unusual to still be on the roads. ...and see the whitewall size on that chevy car? Looks like middish to later 60s? My gut says the pic is from 64 to 66 What i find cool about that pic/car, and where it was built, is that it shows that the style referred to as "east coast" was actually done everywhere, and very often, compared to highboys. The highboy trend of today, is not representing the past very well, IMO
My exact thoughts.. As well as the size of the back tires on the deuce. They almost look like slicks? If so, that fits in with the '60's era very well too.
I think you guys are right, and after looking at the pic I noticed that license plate is a 1963 washington. I do know the car was in this form in 1958, it probably looked a lot like this but with a flathead
