Thanks man! Hahaha yea these motors ate beasts it has about 200,000 on it now so I should be good another 200,000 maybe 300,000 they say they go 500-600,000 before a rebuild.. & the guy I got the parts truck from had all the service records from the last 15 yrs so I know it was taken care of..

  13. You asked for opinions...In my (not so) humble opinion..You ruined a perfectly good car.

I agree, cool paint and proper wheels and some lowering blocks would have been a better list of improvements.... but what do I know... I've never been a mini trucker.

  15. Hate to break it to all the haters, but their are quite a few that are built and more to come with the diesels. This car should pull right around 30mpg, sure beats the hell out of 12-15mpg.
How can you ruin a Dodge or Plymouth, after all they were the ugly duckling for years till the Fords and Chevys started drying up or over priced, now all of a sudden they are cool cause they are priced right and plentiful.

    That exhaust is boss!

  18. HEY!!! I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK!

But yeah, you're right. They've been converting American cars to Diesel in Europe for years...

  19. There is one caveat with these motors....the left side "tappet Cover" gasket. Runs the length of the block on drivers side. Make sure to replace that gasket and GLUE it to the cover. Gasket squished out on my `01 Dodge cummins...without warning, lost 12+/- quarts of my oil going down tollway like RIGHT NOW. Crank was junk, 2 connecting rods, and bearings. $20 gasket at NAPA. Just sayin...DO IT NOW
Only 105,000 original miles, 10yrs old

  20. This build just gets sicker every time I look at it. Wreck a good car? That's funny.
    This thing is fantastic.
    Very nice work.

50Freak, we need more inspiration. What is the latest? Can you summarize the high points of putting a 1100lb +/- motor in the Wayfarer?

How can ya ruin a Dodge? He sounds like Peggy Bundy!
My very first car was a low milage 1949 Dodge Coronet. I shaved it front and rear, plus door handles. Lowered it and drove it that way for years, fluid-slush drive and all.
I actually liked the looks of that car. All it needed was a drive train.
Yours looked great the way you first showed us. But I can't help but love it the way you built it! Great job.

coolest thing you could of done to the car. If you going to cut it up, go big, and you went huge! I have a first gen ram ctd as a dd and I would love to have it in a classic car. Great job!

Ehhh not too much progress on the 50 $$$ got a little Low again so it's kinda been on hold.. But I have finished the (removable) trans tunnel and driveline tunnel also finished fillin all the giant holes in the trunk... And started installing the rear disc brakes So my list is gettin smaller time to figure out a firewall and get the pedals n booster mounted.. Here's a link to a walk around vid on YouTube showing some of the interior sheet metal work..
