Hey man, go nuts. Its your ride, you bought it, you took it home and your working on it. Great find, cool mod ideas, and really great story with photos. Just do what you want to do.

  3. Awesome find.

I hope you can get the engine unstuck, what do you think the problem is?

  7. Cool find alright.
Do your custom work and enjoy the ride.

I can see why a lot won't post their finds on here when they get harassed to leave them stock.

I thought this was a Rod & Kustom site... lol

I hate to be that guy TOO, but I'd love to see you just color sand and buff that out. I'd fix any rust-through but other than that I'd just detail the hell out of it and drive it proudly. YMMV:eek:

  13. Rare find, a completely original untouched car.

  14. That looks amazing. Apart from the solid body, the interior is just stunning. I'd definitely leave the interior as is.....you can't replicate that look very easily.

Cut it up already, if you are going to drive it more in a customized state than if it was restored, then do it. If you restore it, or have someone restore it the car will sit once again in a garage until a local car show or parade. That old girl deserves to be driven fast and far. and the parts you don't use can go to someone elses resto project. Just be tastefull. Maybe study some Rodders Journals or something first, not certain other mags that promote crappy unproportioned rodz.

That car is a great driver. I'd get 'er running and DRIVE IT before i blew it apart. Actually I'd keep it on the road while doing any mods... I've done a few "rolling restos" and it's more fun to be able to do a little and then drive it then having it apart and not running.

I HAVE to take you to task for your descriptions of that house and garage...the house is probably 50 years newer than mine and as far as the garage being "rickety"... I would have killed for anything that big or fancy 30 years ago... we used to build our stock cars outside during the winter!!!!

    Great find...

Oh Wow! That is in amazing shape. What are your plans? It's like looking at my car except without the rust and bad paint. And dents. And broken glass. And missing trim. And missmatched wheels.

  19. Definitely keep it the way it is! It's too cool to cut up. This car just needs preserved.

I personally am in love with how you described you were going to customize it.
Very tasteful early 50s styled. I think that as long as you take your time and do things right, there is no problem with changing it and fixing her up.

    Cant wait to see updates..

It would be cool to keep that interior as long as you can though :p

  22. Amazing find! I showed the pictures to Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford. Both were impressed, both got really excited and started honking their horns and flashing their lights.
