Beautiful car! I just read the whole thread and maybe I missed it, but what did you do to the body to leave it bare metal all this time?
That dash looks really great! Btw.Do you have any pics of the lincoln pushbutton setup on doors? I'd like to see how you handled the mechanism stuff with them.
The push buttons are the new stainless ones and they just fit in the door hole with a small amount of sheet metal to make the hole round and the button just pushes against the original lever inside the door. Very smooth installation.
Just the speedometer alone totally does it for me.Look at that thing...so beautiful ! Really great to see such a quality build with such attention to detail. So much class,so much style.I can't wait to see this car done.
Okey, thanks for the answer.I've been thinking something like that too with my project, but with bearclaws.
Restored the ashtrays for the rear armrests.....some folks take them out but probably back in 1956 or so they were smoking like a farking train? The green gold material I added behind the mesh for a little color when the light hits it.
You know it! Seem to remember most of my friends parents cars in the '70s stunk like an ash tray. My folks didn't do the tobacco thing so it stood out when I got in a smokers car, house or even an airliner of the day.
Oh god yes! Everyone smoked everywhere all the time. Every picture there is of me as a baby the person holding me has a cigarette in their mouth or hand. And they wondered why I kept getting bronchitis!!
Started assembling the the 51 Fordomatic automatic column. Here are the levers with the polished knobs. Thanks Rik Hoving for the comment it's the small details that keep folks looking.
Never liked the stock Vicky back window. Really like the chopped side profile. You hit the ball out of the park on this one. Excellent. Pat
This is going to be one of the most important Kustoms to be finished in the last bunch of years. Thus Far it's breathtaking and I can't wait to see the entire thing with paint in all the right places. Proud of you Mark, you're really seeing this project through and we're all cheering you on bud!
