    Quaint but instructive 1951 General Electric refrigerator ad. :rolleyes: Yeah, it seems a tad odd
    to think that in 1951, a truly effective freezer was still not taken for granted. So, a really
    practical freezer was actually a new-fridge sales plus! Something we may take for granted
    today might have been the neighborhood BUZZ among homemakers as the second half
    of the 20th Century dawned!

    Seems I remember this shot from HRM '63 or so. The Snake's cars had the nicest bodywork. Black's engines weren't too bad either!

    Here is my contribution to this great thread. It took the better part of a month to get caught up to speed but it was worth it.
    These are some photos I saved from the trash when cleaning out an old warehouse in Kingston, NY. They appear to be from the Islip Speedway in Long Island back in the early 50's. I even found a link to the speedways history page:

    Amazing how many memories in photographic form are discarded, or left to rot. I really enjoy this thread and seeing things from the past.
