If its just chips and such, they can be fixed
I know a guy that could do it, and you probably would never be able to tell..

as said before , once you remove that paint job..its not going to still have the same history

Or you could just drive the dam thing

  2. Beautiful.

I don't know that I would paint it if it were mine. its going to be pretty hard to do anything better with that car than what has already been done.

The picture is not of a scratch, it's a crack in the paint and what ever filler may have
    been used.
The car will be driven a lot, no trailer queens here
Just want to find someone to make a repair before it gets worse
Finding someone around here that will spray candy let alone repair it is difficult
I agree, that we shouldn't paint the whole car, it's more of a maintenance thing

I live in a town of 100,000 and can name 3 guys off the top of my head that could repair and match that candy, and you'd never know they did it!

Checked out the picture you posted. In that spot, right by the name, I think you have come up with the best solution. Somebody can get real creative there.

Just an update and another thank you for the help
The car was turned over to Ron Gibbs ,airbrush artist and pinstriper.
He did an amazing job on the touch ups and added more pinstriping
I'll post pics later, the ones I took today didn't come out very well
Car even won Koolist Paint at the Unfinished Nationals today

Congats on obtaining one of the coolest classic customs ever. Dore's cars are always fab, the chips, stratches, and blems are just the things that make it real. ~sololobo~

Some you guys seem to know the car but for those of you that don't ,
It won it's class at the Oakland Roadster Show in 1995 and later won Worlds Most
Beautiful Custom at the Sacramento Autorama and after changing hands a few times
    it's here in Canada

  13. Great fixup on an outstanding car, Ron is one of the guys who'd I'd recommend as well.. Standup guy with talent just oozing out of every pore..
Hope to see it around Ontario this summer and will definitley be looking for it in Syarcuse where I'll be in the pinstriping booth with Ron if he shows...

    that'll work..
heck of a lot better on the wallet than a paint repair, and it looks like it belongs

Never did talk to Andy, was going to use someone in the U.S. as a last
resort. A lot of grief at the border bringing it home if they know the car
    had work done
Ron's pricing for the work he did was very fair, can't complain at all

  16. Mr Wolfman, can you hit us with some engine snaps? I'd love to see what a 350 chev looks like under that bonnet. Stunning car.

I was one of the former owners of the car back in 03.It was a cool looking car.I did some touch up work on it back then. One of the problems I had was the coil springs would pop out of their mounting cups in the back and I never fixed that problem. One of the funny things I remember was underneath in the rear someone patched the floor with a beer can.probably as a joke.I never painted over it or undercoated it.Good luck it is a cool car

That's cool to find a previous owner on the HAMB,coils seem fine and I never saw the beer can when I was under it. I better have another look.
Guy my dad bought from said he bought it in Texas about 8 years ago
