I wish I had taken more pics as I was building it, but this is what I got! Made from 16 ga. CRS. Pullmax dies were made for the final profile, but the corners had to be shrunk and formed before I could start the final profile. This was a fun job!

I forgot I had these in another folder! A few more showing the dies and a few progress shots. I will post the finished pics when my customer gets it back from the chrome shop.

Did you need to do any relief cuts to get rid of excess material in the inside radius at the ends?
    I'm impressed...

That's really nice! How many passes through the dies did it take to get the shape? How are you going to finish it? I like the look it is right now, maybe a satin nickel or a smoke chrome powdercoat.

Very cool. I'm interested in seeing more pics of the bumper fabrication and Merc if you have them.

Thanks guys! There were no pie cuts in the corners, just lots and lots of shrinking. Royalshifter, that's the only side shot I have. All I did on this car is the bumper and mounts.

WOW!! I'm guessing that you shrunk the ends with thumbnail dies in your pullmax? That's some pretty heavy shrinking. What size pullmax do you have? Any more pictures?

CRS, and you're chroming it as well?

How well does that plating work with a stainless alloy?

CRS= Cold Rolled Steel. That would have been next to impossible to shrink that much stainless. That was the hard part, metalfinishing it so it could go to the chrome shop. No body filler allowed!

    Got it!

When I see "C R S " where I work, and in documents, it is referring to "corrosion resistant steel", one of a number of alloys of stainless.

    Bad Ass bumper, nonetheless!!!

very nice work and the bumpers look nice but machining dies and using a pullmax is hardly my idea of "handmade". more like machine made. not knocking the work but using tooling few people have is hardly handmade. cool idea though.
