  6. Thats Bob Mcginley's "scag" 32!! He just recently passed,i used to go down to his shop on friday nights, as his shop was just down the street! Used to love listening to his stories from back in the day!

    Believe it or not, it has been over a year since Bob passed. His memorial service was the second Saturday in June last year;

    1951 Hillman Minx. Green one was mine in front of our house, Belmont Mass with my mother behind the wheel. My first Hillman. I had four more later, a '56 Husky, '54 Convertible, 61 Convertible and a sedan. .

    All too well. By '59-'61 I was in elementary school with north windows facing Cape Canaveral (about 80 miles away). There were so many launches (or I should say, attempts) that it was typical to see at least one launch per day...and not rarely, more than one. They seemed to be throwing boosters up like a skeet shoot. After a certain point, even as kids we didn't even look up always as launches had become so routine. Some of the failures were spectacular, even at that distance.
