This is a 1960's Brockway truck, probably a 257 model.

    Fort Knox, Feb. 1932

The first view is of US Highway 31W (aka "Dixie Highway"...or "Dixie Dieway") looking north towards Louisville. Second view is South toward Radcliff. Few, if any, of the buildings visible exist today, certainly none close to the road. The bullion depository building construction did not begin until 1935-36 so no evidence of it appears. There are no direct rail/road intersections anymore, either.

  19. We've been going through some old slides of my Dad's and converting them to digital. Here's a few of what we got.

Dad and his old "Girl Frind" Nel in New York 1945.

    Mystery 'Late-30's-early-'40's
    vintage delivery van - Can
    anybody I.D it??

I found this pic of a very cool looking
    'late-30's-early-40's-vintage' streamlined
delivery van on the 'Curbside Classics'
site on a thread on the history of
    automotive streamlining ('An Illustrated
    History Of Automotive Aerodynamics:
    Part 2 - 1940–1959
    ')

Talk about an 'Art-Deco bread box'! I
love it! Unfortunately, other than the
one pic, there's no information on it.
Can anybody here identify it as to the
year and possibly, the make and/or
also maybe the designer or the body
builder?? To help in the I.D'ing I've
    attached a slightly enlarged and
enhanced version of the pic, plus a
link to the original pic from "Curbside
    Classics
    " as well.

Not anymore she isn't! That pic was
taken in 1961 and I just realized that
    if she was 14 then, she'd be 65 now!!
I'm not quite that old (not yet anyway)
but thinking about that and realizing
that 1961 was 51 years ago, suddenly,
    I'm feeling very, very ancient!:D
