Got my 48 Plymouth coupe road worthy, got the pre reg package the other day, got a Motel room, bringing the wife for some quality time, planning on making some laps on the track, I am so ready! Gene

only 2 weeks left..... hope all u guys have your cars ready.. cant bring my car but im gunna bring a complete set of fenders, running boards, hood and sides, 2, 30-31 cowl fuel tanks, pair of 30-31 coupe doors very lil rust on the outter bottom, inner structure of the doors are good.... hope to sell all the parts to someone thats needing some good parts

Anyone going to be staying at the Super 8? I can only come up saturday...and I have to trailer my truck up, and being that the trailer parking by the show will be filled, Im looking around on google maps of other places to park my trailblazer and trailer for the day where it will be fine all day. I figured there would be lots of people staying there, just wondering if anyone thinks there will be room for me to come park out for the day...

 

You should be able to park it where we camp next to the track there real nice people there n shouldnt be a problem i think!

 

Zaq - There is parking across from the event for trailers and tow vehicles at T&J Manufacturing or at the back of Ohnward Fine Arts Center. Call Rich Current at 563-357-2775.

 

...yeah, room is real limited at Super 8 anyway.

 

Zaq - the problem I see arising is that you are getting there on Sat. I suspect the parking for the trailers across from the grounds will be full by then.
Park about 2 blocks from the grounds....
unload your ride - take it in.
Go park your trailer up in the Banowitz Antique parking lot.
That is about 1/8 of a mile from the Super 8

 

I thought Onward Fine Arts center has an event on Saturday May 5.
so I seriously doubt they will let us park there - and I sure hope they have someone out there guarding the place - or else I suspect there will be a LOT of people parking there.

again - if Zaq were coming in on Friday - I would agree.....
but since he is arriving on Sat.
camping may be sold out.
And I can guarantee they will want to charge you to park in the camping area. There is no way they can determine who is parking for a trailer and who is camping.........
take up the real estate and you gotta pay.

 

Yea i wish I could show up friday and camp it would make things alot simpler.
Ill have to look into the banowitz place. Thanks. Whenever I get there in the morning Ill just drive around until I find somewhere to park...

 

I have a king bed room at the Comfort in Maquoketa, I want to trade it for a double bed room at that hotel.

I have another room in DeWitt but want to see if I can stay at the comfort.

I think my room has two queen beds. I can make the boy sleep on the floor if need be. I will check and see, probably better ask my wife too. I'll see what I can do

 

I'll be there, not sure if I'll have the Nova gasser or not, the engine has a few noises I don't like, so I'll be trailering it down.

 

talk to diamond49 think she has a room that the people cancelled on Im going alone and might have an empty bed in my room if somebody doesnt mind sharing a room

Here's another option for camping. Central Park in Jones County. They have electric and primitive camping spots. The park is 30 miles from Maquoketa.

Maquoketa Caves or Eden Valley are close as well. Both beautiful spots to camp. 15 minutes or less away.

 

There is a campground on the southend of Maquoketa on South Main. They have electric hookups and showers.
