By far my favorite Ford truck. Looks like a really nice one.

I wonder what the production numbers are on these trucks? Gotta be low compared to the rest of the '50's Fords, you never see these them.

Since you won't tell us what motor/trans it will have, I'm forced to assume from the fact that it will have three pedals as you stated, and those 5-spokes, that you may be going the hot rod route with this truck..

How far from the truth am I? :)

    Alright.... The HARSH truth.

Built this engine for another Hot Rod that went away.... 357" SBC, really good stuff inside, cool stuff outside, made 541hp. Muncie M-21, aluminum flywheel, Felton clutch & PP, Aluminum drive shaft, Strange 9" w/ Detroit Locker and Tex 3.80 gear.

Sorry to stomp the dreams of a Y-Block, FE, or any other Ford power plant. This is what I had laying around, so.... that's what I'm gonna use.

That wasn't harsh at all. I'm liking it.. 541 horses will move that truck pretty good.

That looks to be a cool project Kevin, even if it is getting a Chebby motor. At least you're sticking a 4 speed in it, oughta be a blast to drive.
I passed on the opportunity to buy a '57 F100 with the Bell Telephone style utility body last year and still regret it. You're right, these trucks don't show up alot.

It's kind of a Y block, just fast and reliable.

Yeah that's the death of most projects. Waiting around on the money to build an engine that you can't afford, when you could have put what you had in it and been driving it all year.... Not playing that game.

I wouldn't trade a good SBC for an FE anyway, regardless of what it was going in. ;)

Alright, enough of this computer bullshit.... I've got rust to fix. Pictures later.

I've REALLY missed my old shop truck, so this one will make a good replacement.

Few and Far between, but I have my moments...

It should sit really nice once I get the engine/trans in there. Anybody got a decent chrome grill for a good price? Mine is not as good as the pictures make it look.

Yep... no reason to look for something that costs money and has less power just because it's a Ford. My last one had Ford power, this ones gonna have Chevy. No big deal, people do it everyday.

I have it, it's paid for, and it's dyno fresh. I'm using it. End of discussion. Anybody that doesn't like it can keep on moving.

Hey Kevin, not to hijack the thread but here's the photoshopped version of your roadster with blackwalls that you asked for. It won't post on the pm. Eli

I've got a decent one from a 60 but it has twin headlights. Rusty on the back but the crome is decent on the front

I appreciate the offer, but it's gotta be a '57 grill.

Good luck on the 57' grill thing, I have been searching myself and they go for BIG money even if they need rechromed. I can't believe no one is re-poping these things yet.
Love the truck, I have a 57' F100 shortbed, 429CJ, C-6, 9" that I wanted to pull an old trailer and hit swap meets with. The gas gauge doesn't make it a very good swap meet truck (wow, those 429s like the go juice!) but i am loving the truck so far.
What is the bumper on the truck in your first pic from? I hate the factory bumper on my 57'. They look a little better when you tuck them back a few inches but they still look like an after thought.

Bill is responsible for me wanting one. I never noticed F100's until I saw Bill's a few times locally. I got to build one!
