Bought this a good while back. It doesnt quite fit a Chevy. Has anyone got any ideas or seen one before?
Looks like possibly a Toyota 2F inline 6. Basically a metricized chevy 6. Been a while since I messed with the yoda motor but man-a-fre made parts for them. In fact still a Man-a-fre that sells landcruiser parts
'Doesn't quite fit a Chevy'....but almost?? Hmmm?? In that case, it's probably for a Pontiac OHC6. I know manifolds made for Pontiac OHC6's will 'almost fit' a Chevy 6 and can be modified a bit to make them fit. Clifford and Man-A-Fre - just to name two aftermarket companies - made 3-2bbl Rochester manifolds similar to what you've got, both for Chev 6's - and for Pontiac OHC6's. Mart3406 ===============
The carbs would be backwards for a 300 Ford. The 300 Ford has the intake on the right-hand side of the head. This manifold appears to be for an engine with a left-hand side intake manifold. I noticed in the pic too that it has "Man-A-Fre" cast into, so that nails the manufacturer. If there's a number cast into the intake somewhere, that should nail down the application....which I'm almost certain now, is for a Pontiac OHC6 by the way. Mart3406 ==============
Thanks all for the input and info. The cat dont get excited about much. Mart3406 Ihave been trying to track this thing down all day and I believe you are right. Everything I can find on it and a PM says its for a OHC Pontiac like in the ole 68-69 firebirds. This one may be an ebay item soon cause I cant use it. But it definately would look cool under the hood of a 6 banger chevy! Thanks again to all
