My first car in High School was a 1969 GMC pickup. Would have been the beginning of my junior year 1975. In the Spring of 1976 I started a work school program with AT&T. 36 years later I just retired from that first real job. Spent most of that career working outside in every type of Phone truck they could conceive. So last week I am on the HAMB like every other day and this 47 Ford shows up for sale. I just had to have it. Bringing it home next week. Just seems like the perfect fit. It was bought by the phone tech who used it back in 1966 when he retired and was put away in storage all those years.

Nice C-series, I almost bought a 64 C-series Firetruck at an auction a few years back, the only downside was it had a 534, but with all the lights and sirens I would have had a lot of fun! :D

  9. +1! Looks like a great start!

  10. Looks way better with the bed and fenders on it!
    Good luck with it Sam.

This is the 63 I picked up a couple weeks ago. It is a driving project vs my 57 that has been sitting 20 years. So far I did headers and dual exhaust and rebuilt the 3 speed column shifter. Next is fix the cab mounts and slam it on the ground via a axle flip on both ends. I will probably change the rim color and put the white walls out and some spyder caps are on the way.

Though this is not the forum for your truck,I have to say it's coming along nice!
    I always like those chopped!

There is a flat black Peterbuilt that blasts past my house every few days that has a heavy chop, is lowered and the only chrome on the whole thing is a few hundred spikes along some of the seams, a look that I would hate on anything else!

Thanks, I was considering a mild chop, but I dont think I would want to contort into any less of a cab.

I finally found these picture files today. I built this about 19 years ago for the kids. It's a little 29 Ford Model A. B&S powered with a body of Masonite and wood

I used to prefer the 55-57 body style but the more I seen the 58-59's the more I change my mind. Nice looking truck.

Crashed mine this weekend, read about it HERE :(

Maybe replacing the fender will be an excuse to get started on a serious makeover. It's my daily and all I have to drive (other than whatever project I have at the time). I've accumulated a lot of new parts for it, rear fenders, patch panels, a better driver's side door, weatherstripping, etc. Just can't seem to motivate myself to take it off the road long enough to fix it up.

    Right after the crash:
