  1. Looking Great Steve!
    Was that a Monterey?
I have a Monterey and I am stripping the roof of its pitted rust. It is the hardest job yet...it just won't come off. Wire wheel, acid deruster stuff,24 grit,36 grit flap discs,
    It's like its baked on....ugh

In addition...did you have small pierce holes about every 4" around the back window frame? Was that for the fabric top. Should I braze them shut?

Yes this to was a Monterey. Those rust pits from it being a vinyl top are awful! I tried grinding and numerous chemical treatments could not get it all out so I had it walnut shell blasted. I had the holes around the Window frame also.I mig welded them up.

Got some good used quarters to replace the pos fiberglass passenger side and the rotted out drivers from a fellow Hamb member, found out the inner quarters needed some attention to so I bought a couple of sheetmatal tools from a friend who didnt need them anymore and made some parts.

Looking really sweet. I need to score a set of good, used rear quarters for my 50 Merc. Any leads?
