In the early 60s I had a 53 Chevy that used or leaked about a quart of oil each tank of gas, about once a week .

In Los Angeles there was a engine re builder that would "rebuild" the engine for $99.95.

I asked my father if I should have it done and he asked how much the oil I used cost.

I said that I used the Reclaimed oil that cost 10 cents a quart.

He said that I could buy oil for about 19 years at that price and that the $99.95 rebuild with expanded pistons probably would only help for a year or 2 anyway.

He was a wealth of wisdom.

    Dick :) :) :)

    Description

Harry Jones and his Sikorsky S-39 on the beach at Old Orchard Beach. Jones (1890-1973) operated a flying service and airport at Old Orchard from 1919 to 1933. The hard-packed sand at low tide made ideal landing and take-off conditions

I have no idea who these guys were, but I like the rig. Maybe Mart or Jimi can come up with an appropriate name for the group.
