I have my phone number on the shop sign out front. Every Monday morning Id have 4 to 7 messages asking how much I wanted for the truck. Figured if it got that much attention Id leave it out there for eye candy. It's well known in these parts. LOL I use to have a chopped 36 Ford humpback on the roof of the old shop for conversation. Was afraid it would roll off the roof of the Kuansit Hut that I'm in Now! LOL

I originally was going to make a car hauler out of it but where do ya park those things when your not using them and still want to keep an eye on um? I decided to do a fifth wheel hitch and make a ole school fifth wheel looking trailer for hauling the toys around. Hence the Tow Truck looking bed.

This thing showed up at the shop this week. Guy is from Fond du Lac WI, did it all hisself, I'm way impressed. Been low 11's @ 125 @ Byron. 4BT Cummins, compound turbo, dorkflight and 9". We are fixing on the trans and rear axle, sounds like a fuel car when ya start it up cold, VERY impressive driver I'll tell you. Don't care to hear about the wheels.

whats the paint code ? I love it

  17. Can't remember the code (I'm old) It's 2011 Chrysler "Mango Tango"
    Thanks for the compliments.
If you look in my online album you'll see a 49' Silver Streak. It's painted the same color. From the same can actually. But with regular gloss clear. It looks completly different. With the clear so flat on this truck it looks amazing in direct sunlight. It's like the pearl is trying to pop out but the flat is knocking it back down. Sounds goofy. Looks cool.

It has the Heidts front, that's coil overs Mustang II style and leafs under a '55 posi car rear end.

Handles awesome! Rides smooth as glass.

  21. Mike, that Binder is one cool truck!
...a couple of F-1 build threads on here lately inspired me to get back to work on mine; found a good bed & rear fenders, so I replaced the homemade flatbed...it's almost ready to drive.

I'm digging the letting and patina of you truck!

I have an old Crane wrecker boom & sling that would look killer in there, I'll try to find a picture of it.

Your so close you have to get it ready to drive now.

Pretty cool! No tire issues with the fenderwell headers? I was working on a similar setup last fall and considered fenderwell headers for the sbc but wasn't sure if it'd work. My truck had a Cordoba clip.

My headers have only a 1/4" clearance in three spots, but have never hit.

The tires clear fine too. Mike
