The build is coming along great. Keep those pics coming. Whatever you figure out is one less thing I have to figure out.

No idea if this is what you have in mind, but this is just stock 53 parts rearranged and lowered a little.

You sir are my hero ! I was actually hoping you would offer up some of your magic ! I honestly have this strange idea of the center porttion of a 57 Chevy truck grill stuck in my head ? I dig tube grills ,I dig kaiser grills. The possibilities are endless....
Its cool to actually see my car with a bumper, makes it a bit easier to visualise things a lot better !

Here's a quick 'shop with the 57 Chevy truck "floater" and a 55 Pontiac split grill. Something like this maybe?

Frickin' cool ! I would probably just use the two splits and mold the front in . The grill is sweet. Ive got folks looking for one, well see what happens....
    Thanks !

Yeah I thought the whole bumper looked kinda heavy, I'll rework it with the splits and some sort of valance.

Still looks kinda shiney , it's more on the flat side when fully cured , almost a satin ...

Isn't the lip on the front of the hood made of pot metal? If so how did you mold it to the hood. I have the same issue with my 49 Buick and would like to mould mine in also.

Arn't some of the 53 Pontiac repo tail lights chromed steel? If so that would solve your problem. Not to hijack, but I would be interested to know how people with potmetal grill surrounds mold them into the body. Or do they have to re create the lip in sheetmetal?

Hey Volksjunky, the Poncho looks great, awesome metal fabing it's gonna be cool when it's done, subscribed! BTW, don't ya just love photoshop, I remember when my Dad would cut pictures of grilles, bumpers and headlights out of car mags and paste them to blown-up pics of his car! Ahh how times have changed.... Brian
